1U · 19" & 10" racks · PoE+
A gorgeous array of sharp, vibrant rgb pixels that fills a 1U rack slot and tells you whatever you need it to — at a glance, from across the room.
You choose what to show, how to show it and when to show it.

We're building a small first batch. Leave an address and we'll tell you when it's ready — nothing else, ever.

Pixel Rack pulls live information from the services and devices you already run, and puts it into anything it shows. Adding a source is pointing and clicking: no code, no scripts.
Integrations for standard network protocols and a set of ready-made data sources are built in, and you can add as many sources of your own as you like.
Get your data on the display quickly, or create complex animations on a timeline - every pixel is yours.
The unit of content
Pixel Rack plays your content in a continuous loop. You decide what it shows, when it shows it and for how long.
Make something show once, make it show every hour, schedule it, or make it loop forever.
Sure, Pixel Rack comes with its own app to allow you to control what data you want to retrieve and allow you to design how it’s shown, but we know that doesn’t suit every scenario – every use case – every user.
We include the ability to push messages to the display of one or more Pixel Racks on your network via any app or code you want, and even display messages on one Pixel Rack on your network from another.
Integrate pushing messages to any Pixel Rack on your network from any codebase or app that can post JSON to a REST API.
The REST API lets you pass the message text and its colour, or use multiple colours within the message.
Perfect for automated testing, progress notifications and more.
Pixel Racks can find each other on your network using UDP broadcast. Discoverable devices require a common secret key that you choose.
When devices discover each other, a new Discoverable menu & page appears where you can see all devices and select which ones to broadcast messages to.
Broadcast messages interrupt running scenes, and show on all recipients at the same time.
Pixel Rack serves its own application. Open its IP address or local domain name in any browser on your network and everything is there for you.
The Pixel Rack application includes everything: the content creation editors, accurate previews, sprite creation, network device access,
web API sources, logs and firmware updates.
No external app, no cloud accounts, no internet required.
Two sizes, one product
Pixel Rack currently comes in two handy 1U sizes – one for your standard 19” rack and another for the 10” rack that’s become a favourite with home lab fans. I first spotted this thanks to the brilliant stuff from Jeff Geerling.
Both versions are functionally identical; on the 10”, the horizontal LEDs drop from 175 to 105 due to reduced width.
Both need Ethernet (RJ45) and PoE+; PoE+ is recommended for the 10” Pixel Rack, but standard PoE works – firmware auto-adjusts brightness to stay within current limits. PoE type (802.3af/at) is auto-detected.
Pixel Rack operates within your network and requires internet connectivity to retrieve and display data from external web APIs.
Pixel Rack respects your privacy and there are only two places in the firmware that connects to the Pixel Rack cloud.
Disconnect Pixel Rack from the internet completely. Just a single click is all it takes.
Firmware updates can be done manually via file upload in the browser, and NTP can use a local address.
Same firmware • same features • same everything.
1U · 10" rack · PoE
Yes, so long as you meet the minimum requirements listed for 10" and 19" power budgets.
Passive PoE may work, but is not supported.
Only slightly; it's linked to your Pixel Rack's thermals, so the more pixels you are pushing, and the warmer your rack ambient temperature is, the louder it will be.
That said, it will likely be negligible compared to your rack noise ;)
Pixel Rack is designed, manufactured and assembled in Australia. Pixel Rack firmware is also developed in Australia.
